Logan's Pit Crew
Dear Friends and Family,
We would like to share a little bit of our journey with you. When our son Logan turned two, we noticed he was not meeting some of the typical milestones for his age and his personality was starting to change as well. As a mom something just felt uncertain, so my husband and I decided to have him evaluated to ease our minds. Logan was two and half when he was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. As a parent no one wants to hear that their child is struggling developmentally. We were devastated at first, not because we thought differently of our son, but because of the fear of the unknown. We didn't even know where to begin to provide him with the resources he needed. It certainly was, and still is, an emotional journey.
Once Logan was diagnosed, he was on the fast track. He started early intervention followed by ABA services and once he was three he started preschool. We were concerned that there was too much change for him in such a short period of time. In six months he was diagnosed, started receiving services and also had the arrival of his new little sister (Sydney). Although it was difficult in the beginning, we are happy to share with you that Logan has been thriving. Every day is a new adventure and we love seeing him reach new goals and milestones. He is a happy, fun, smart and outgoing boy.
